1st Easter Egg hunt...Fireman Style!

Lucky for us my dad is a retired Dallas Firemen so we got to attend the Annual Firemen Easter Egg hunt! It was the perfect weather for an Easter egg hunt with not a cloud in the sky! Little bit was just in heaven watching everything around her from other little kids to all the games..though we were very unsure of the costumed people!

Trying to play a game but wasn't quite sure yet!

This was our favorite game...anything that she can splash in is a guaranteed hit!

Easter Egg hunt begins...daddy was in charge of this one!

Checking out the goodies with Capt' once we got home!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Five on Friday

ONE.
Little bit has had a rough month it seems like..which of course makes momma's month rough! She is getting her two top teeth...which I feel like I have been saying FOREVER. I think she has the slowest teeth ever, finally this week they seem to be dropping down more but our doctor said her gums are still pretty sore. On top of that she has some kind of virus that WILL NOT GO AWAY! It has been lingering for about two weeks now. We have had fever from 102.9 to about 101 all week long! Poor girl just tries to play hard but only lasts about 30 minutes and then needs to rest but then she is ready to go again! Our doctor hopes that by next week she will be ready to go! So do this momma!
The pictures on the left shows how she had been acting for the majority of the week and the picture on the right is how she acted the WHOLE time our doctor was talking to us...i'm sure he thought I was a quack! Oh well...I would rather her love her doctor I suppose! :)

TWO
To entertain us for the few moments she was feeling good...(and because momma wanted some) we decided to make our first batch of sugar cookies together this week! Weslee Grace was such a big helper..and tried to sneak cookie dough 1,456 times in the process! It was such a mess but so worth it making memories with my girl!
(Those lips are pressed together so tightly because she just managed to stuff RAW cookie dough in her mouth...Mother of the Year right here ;) )

She even got to have a few bites licks of the cookies when we got them all finished! This girls faces kill me!

THREE
Someone's first birthday is coming up in the next 2 months (CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!) so I have been starting to put a few things together..who am I kidding I've been working on things since she was about 4 months old! I finally got her invitations ordered and absolutely love them! I used Beth from Beth Hart Designs and they turned out perfectly! I know I will be using her products and design ideas for many more things in the future!

 FOUR
Don't you love when you order something and then forget about it...then your surprised all over again when it shows up at your door! A few months ago I saw this swing that I wanted to order for little bit that I thought we could hang inside or outside for her to play with and it was super cute too! It was handmade in Nicuargua  which in my books makes it even more fun! Well it finally came in the mail and I got the husband to hang it up and little bit loves it! I know we are going to be using it a lot for her and any future babes!

Sorry for the picture overload...narrowing down pictures has never been something I am good at doing!
UPDATED: I purchased the swing from HamacArt on Etsy!
FIVE
On March 16 ,I celebrated two years of marriage with this guy! Seriously I think when you get married time just begins to go at warp speed..and when you have kids...its triples!

I can't believe how fast these two years have gone and how much joy and happiness they have brought us! This guy continues to amaze me everyday with how he leads our family and works so very hard for us! There are not many people that could be an amazing husband and daddy while going to school full time and working! We have one of the best and I couldn't imagine doing life with anyone else! Can't wait to see what this next year holds for  us!
A few wedding pictures to look back on...

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

Dying Easter Eggs...not for the faint of heart!

So I have had in my head for a while that I wanted to dye Easter eggs with Weslee Grace! I figured if she can paint a pumpkin at 4 months surely we can tackle dying Easter eggs at 9 months! Oh friends...think twice before you decide to do this! I found a shaving cream method of dying Easter Eggs on trusty Pinterest that seemed super easy and made the whole thing seem more manageable..uhm not exactly! Luckily we were at my parents house to take on this activity...in the middle of my dads nap...I'll let you decided if you think he got a nap or not! :)

IF you are wanting to try this method of Easter egg dying you need the following items:
*Shaving cream..not the gel kind
*Bright colored food coloring
*Boiled Eggs
*and LOTS of towels to clean up messes!

We think spoons going in your mouth always...this is what she did when we tried to get her to help stir!
You have to let the eggs sit in the shaving cream mixture for about 30-45 minutes to make sure they are really dyed...we didn't leave ours in long enough..you will see further down!

Just a quick game of "peek-a-boo" while waiting for the eggs to finish dying!

We would of also been just as happy playing with a bucket of shaving cream...my recommendation on doing this with your own little bit is use Whip Cream instead of shaving cream!! 99% of the time we were trying to intercept shaving cream from going into her mouth!

The final products...they were supposed to be multi-colored..ours didn't work out so well! The "white" egg is also really orange but I don't think we left it in long enough!

Little bit thought that these eggs were meant for eating...she took a couple of *bites* out of the eggs! There may or may not of been some fishing of egg shells out of her mouth!

We laughed so hard during the process so I would say it was well worth it activity! Good luck if you try and dye Easter eggs with a baby too! I would highly recommend getting some professional Easter egg dying help!

I will leave you with this sweet pictures of Angus and Weslee Grace! They are going to be the best of friends I believe!
