Five on Friday

This week seemed to fly by..it could be that we had something every. single. day. this week..fun stuff but still this momma is tired! I'm linking up again with Natasha at hello happiness blog. Be sure to join it, so fun!

ONE.
We have had some gorgeous weather in the Dallas area as of late (don't worry jealous friends..that changed today and we are back int he 40s) and we have been taking full advantage! We have been on more walks than I can count and only have tea parties outside! It is a total game changer when the weather is nice around here!

TWO
We are getting ready for Valentines day over here and I have found the cutest Valentine cards (from OllieAndLulu ) for Weslee Grace to "pass out" to her friends! It may be a little absurd for an 8 month old to hand out Valentine Cards but thats just how we do things over here!

THREE
Apparently now that little bit turned 8 months old she thinks she is big stuff! It took me FOREVER to find a grocery cart cover that I loved (because you know those things are important and everything) but finally I found one! My MIL got it for us and I could not love it more! So we now ride in the carts like a big girl..and oh my goodness she LOVES it!

AND this one has decided that sitting is overrated and standing is the new game! She has started standing by herself and when she is feeling extra brave she will move one foot towards me..and then promptly fall down of course! I have a feeling in the next few weeks we are going to be in a whole new world!

That grin melts this mommas heart!

FOUR
On the side and for fun, I paint stools for teachers! I always painted a stool for my classroom and then started getting requests to paint stools for other people! Since I am staying home this has been a fun way to make a little extra money! Though I will say painting with a baby is a whole new ballgame! I just finished up another stool that was quite hard to paint…not because of the requests but because I was painting it to represent the team that beat my Baylor Bears in their bowl game! I managed to put my feelings aside and get it done too! This customer wanted it to "sparkle" which was a first time request but I think it looks so cute…glitter is hard to take pictures of, especially with my iPhone!

 FIVE
Last but for sure not least we are celebrating this guy this weekend! It is his birthday tomorrow! Weslee Grace and I get to be his dates to lunch today for his birthday and we couldn't be more excited! He is the absolute best dad and capt' around, no questions! Weslee Grace thinks that he is just the best and lights up when he is around (and she is particularly obsessed with his Dallas Fire Department hat that he always wears!)  He has taught me so much from how to love God with everything, to have unshakeable faith, to love my family with everything inside of me and one of my most favorite qualities that he has shown me and taught me is to be selfless. He puts everyone before himself. Always. He always finds the good in people and is constantly reminding me as well! I am one lucky girl to have this guy as my daddy and Weslee Grace could not of picked out a better capt' for herself!  Happy Birthday(tomorrow!) daddy! I love you!

Happy Friday everyone and I hope you have a great weekend!

8 months

Well good thing I keep up with little bit in her baby book and my "letter to Weslee Grace" journal because I have been doing some serious slacking on the monthly updates on the blog! Here is to picking everything back up with her 8 month update!

Sweet girl you joined our little family 8 months ago and we can not believe it! We had no idea what we were missing before you became apart of us! You are such a bright light in our life! Your joy is contagious!

There is never a dull moment with you (or still for that matter)! You HAVE to know what is going on wherever we are and you LOVE it when people talk to you when we are out and about. You just ham' it up with them and flash that sweet little grin of yours! You do not like to sit and prefer to stand all day, especially at our coffee table and your window! Whenever I open the curtains for your in the morning you start grinning and squealing! You do the same thing every.single. time. we open the front door to go do something!

You are a master crawler now and have been for quite a bit, but you have just recently decided to start using these skills all the time instead of your belly flop method of movement. You have FINALLY figured out the amazing bonus of being able to crawl means you can follow me to any room that you want! Over are the days of putting you in a room and waiting for you to scream while I run to check on the laundry or put something away..for sure makes these moments a little more joyous! You will stand on your own for a few seconds at a time (probably could do a lot longer) but when you realize what you are doing you sit right down! 99% of our day is spent walking around while you hold my fingers or pushing your cart with all your toys in it. You also enjoy walking around holding on to our furniture and have figured out how to move from one piece to another to get where you want! I think we are not that far away from you being even more independent!

You got your first two teeth this past month! Momma had heard so many horror stories about when babies get teeth so we were prepared for the worst but were pleasantly surprised! You were not that fussy but you did refuse to nap during the day! Which rocked mommas world at first but we made the best of it and got in some extra play time! Plus I have been told I should count my lucky stars that I only had to deal with that! Plus you do sleep a totally of 13 (sometimes 14 hours..) at night! When you wake up from your naps during the day you take a good 10 minutes before you are ready to mingle! You prefer to snuggle and rock with momma before really waking up..please do this forever!

You are still very attached to momma but you are working on it..don't work to hard though little bit :) . You do really well with other people if I am no where in sight but if you can see me or hear me you mainly want your momma! I am soaking it up!

Your daddy and you LOVE bath time together and he is the master bath giver! Every bath toy creature has their own name and their specific place in the tub. He makes you laugh so hard and you two just have the best time! You are still not a fan of getting out of the bath tub but you are for sure getting better.  Daddy puts your pajamas on you most nights and you love trying to escape from him, momma secretly loves watching this and usually does very little to help :)!

You are consistently eating 3 meals a day of solid foods and are doing great! You are really good eater and only have found about 1 thing you do not like, peas. I do not blame you little bit! You LOVE avocados! You are known to eat a whole avocado in one day. You love all fruits except bananas and especially pears and apples. You have had squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, chicken noodle soup, zuccihni, cheerios and I'm sure I am forgetting something.
*funny story I don't want to forget* We were at a play date with your sweet friend Addy and momma had just opened a diet coke. I was holding your avocado in my other hand so I was concentrating on keeping that away from you so you didn't stick your hands inside the bowl. Well while I was concentrating so hard on that, you sneaked your little mouth on mommas diet coke and helped your self! You were so thrilled with what you tasted and even more proud of your self! You are a hoot little bit!

You still have the absolute best expressions and that is usually the number one thing that people comment on, that and your eyes! Everyone always asks how I get you to do it and it is all you! You require no coxing or bribing to make those faces! I love your little big personality and can't wait to see you grow into it even more!

You have learned to play "pee-pie" and want to play it all the time. You play it in the car as well and think it is hilarious! You have also figured out that you can hide behind your curtains and play it with them too!

You LOVE giving yourself kisses! All I have to do is put you in front of a mirror and say "Give Weslee Grace Kisses" and you go full force. Over. Over. Over.  If you can't tell by the last picture you taking giving yourself kisses very seriously. You are very stingy with your kisses though and only give them to certain people at certain times. Some days momma is lucky…others not so much!

Little Bit, you are momma and daddy's whole world. We love you more than we could of ever dreamed of, but you know what is even better than that…Jesus loves you more than that! That is a tough concept for momma to always remember but it is so comforting at the same time! You have amazed us in these short 8 months that we have had the privilege of being your momma and daddy. We are in shock every time you do something new and it my make your crazy momma a little sad to see you grow so fast but we are already so proud of you as well! We pray that you always keep your spunky, joyous personality and share that joy with everyone around you. I love you little bit.

Five on Friday

We made it to another Friday..not that Friday means quite the same thing anymore, but at least we get our daddy back for the weekend!

ONE.
Speaking of daddies, we have a pretty darn good one! He just started another semester of school and is getting back into the swing of things! We are officially less than a year away from graduation and I think we are both finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! There was never a doubt in my mind that he would be an amazing student and husband! I figured that was totally doable and with me being a teacher I had plenty to keep me busy at night time while he studied (whoever thinks teachers are done at 3:00..well thats a whole other post ;))! When we got the best little surprise, (one we would of never dreamed of ourselves….right now at least) Weslee Grace, I was a little curious worried how he would manage school, being a husband, and learning to be a daddy as well! I should of known that I married the best and he would handle it with ease! He is the most loving, fun, helpful (to me!!), dedicated daddy around! He is so selfless with his few minutes of extra time and spends it reading, playing, or feeding WG..and helping out this momma with anything and everything! He is the all time best bath giver! I shouldn't of been surprised by any of this but I just didn't know how it all would work out! The Buck girls are truly blessed to have this man has a husband and daddy!
(my all time favorite pictures of my people)

TWO
In october of last year we joined a Foundation Group within our church, Watermark Church. A foundation group is like a bible study and you make a 15 month commitment to meet weekly as couples to work through a curriculum that is provided from our church. Can I just tell you that Will and I hit the jackpot of foundation groups! We have been so BLESSED by each couple in our group and can not believe that our 15 month commitment is already over! It flew by and seems like just yesterday that Will and I were throwing at them AT OUR FIRST MEETING that oh hey we are having a baby! These people have taught me more in 15 months about my relationship with God, my relationship with my husband and how to grow them both then I could of ever imagined! I am so thankful to have each of them in our lives as a solid support system! They have been there through the exciting times of pregnancy, to the scarier times of the NICU, to dealing with how meetings look now with a baby involved! I love you ladies (and your hubbies) more than you know and truly appreciate "doing life" with you!

THREE
"How big is Weslee Grace?"

"So big!
This is our new trick and I may or may not make her do it 1,546 times a day! This is about our only trick we can do on demand! We were on FaceTime with mom and she even did it for her whole office staff! I absolutely love this stage! If you read our last five on five I told you about those letters and how she is obsessed with them..here is more proof!

FOUR
We can officially wear little clips in our hair to hold her ever growing bangs back! We aren't quite as good at not pulling these out but I think I can def train her :) I think she looks precious personally :)

FIVE

We have had the most special treat of being a brand rep for the sweet sweet shop Sugar Bit.  Such a fun honor! I'm pretty sure if my husband wouldn't kill me I would buy one of everything! They have precious unique pieces so your sweet little one isn't matching everyone in the nursery (or class!) Lucky for us they are having an amazing sale today that you will not want to miss out on! Head on over and get your shop on, I know I will be shortly!
This momma has her eye on these few pieces that are at amazing prices, this would be a great time to stock up on items even for next year or grab a few things to finish out the season!!

This outfit is for sure coming my way very soon, it is not on sale, but oh my goodness I don't know how you could not purchase it anyways!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend! We are looking forward to sunny skies and warm weather in the great state of Texas (at least my area :) )
