The day I become a mommy!

Dear Sweet girl,

Today (early early in the morning) we are headed to the hospital  to have you! You are your fathers daughter and have your own schedule, and we have a scheduled induction at 6am since you have decided you are quite comfy inside me. I told your daddy yesterday, that we would be working on fixing that ASAP! He seems to think it is quite funny that you already have your own little schedule and do life your own way! We are beyond excited to meet you sweet girl and I can't wait for you to make me a mommy!

I am not sure what you are supposed to feel like on the day you become a mommy but I have all types of feelings..excited, scared, curious, anxious and many many more! Sweet girl we have waited 9 months (some that flew by and then some that seemed to drag on and on!) to meet you, hold you, and kiss your sweet cheeks! I know our first weeks will be tough and we'll both be figuring out things but I can't wait.  Little girl I love you and can't wait to see you grow (I do hope you do it slowly though!) and take on the world around you.

You are so loved by so many people before you even breath your first breath on this earth, but the two people that love you more than anyone else are your daddy and I! You have so many family members and friends that have been praying for you these past 9 months and that are so eager to meet you! You are one lucky and blessed little girl, as are your father and I!

I can't wait to see who you look like sweet girl! Will you have your daddy's eyes, which he claims are the only eyes prettier than mommy's?  Will you have your daddies bright blonde hair or my dark brown hair? I am very curious to see how much you weigh, and to see if you are as big as everyone says you are going to be! I know the minute that I lay eyes on you that the only thing that I will think will be that you are perfect, and made just how God wanted you to be made! Sweet girl I hope you always remember that, and never ever let anyone tell you anything different!

Your daddy can't wait to hold you and see you baby girl, I have a feeling he is going to be a baby hog! He so wants to teach you how to fish, and to get dirty! I am pretty sure if he could find a small enough fishing pole that would be your first outing! He is going to be the best daddy to you! There will be days that you two don't see eye to eye (especially when it comes to clothing since he has already told me that two piece bathing suits and shorts are not an option..don't worry that's what I am here for!) , and you may think that he is tough but always remember everything he says and does is because he loves you and wants the absolute best for you! He is going to be your biggest fan and supporter! Your daddy loves you something fierce little girl and there is nothing that he wouldn't do for you! I hope you grow up with the same determination, hard work ethic, and love for people your daddy has sweet one! He puts on a tough face but his heart is one of gold!

Sweet girl you are the best surprise your daddy and I could of ever dreamt of! I can't wait to be your mommy, something that I have always dreamed about! Over the past 9 months I have read, researched, asked my mommy friends everything question under the sun to try and be as prepared for you as I can and to try learn how to be the best mommy for you! I know I will make mistakes but little girl I promise to do my very best and I promise that I love you more than you will ever know! I can't believe that you are all mine. forever.and.ever. I so look forward to all the things that we are going to get to do together. I am excited for this first newborn stage, and learning what you smell like, and what it feels like to hold you and rock you (even if it is in the wee hours of the morning). I just can't wait to have you in my arms!

We love you Weslee Grace and can't wait for you to make our family of three!

all my love,
Mommy

Weslee Wednesday - 40 plus weeks

I can't believe that I have been so bad about updating the blog, but things have just been super busy lately. I finished up my last days of teaching last week and got my classroom packed up! It was a bittersweet day, and I am going to miss teaching and my sweet kiddos! Happy to know that they are in good hands with a substitute that used to teach 2nd grade! We have been getting all the last minute things ready for Weslee's arrival too!

My in-laws bought us a new camera and I can't wait to use it! I have a lot to learn but luckily I will have a sweet little girl to spend hours photographing! If you have any tips or know where I can learn about how to use the camera best I would love to hear it!

We had an appointment with our doctor this morning to check on our sweet girl. They performed a non-stress test and little girl passed with flying colors and still seems quite comfy inside! My doctor is going out of town on Friday morning to take her boys to the Bahamas (might be a little jealous) so we are being induced tomorrow morning at 6 am! As in we will have a little girl by Friday *hopefully*!!! My doctor is leaving Friday at 11am so we are on quite the schedule..lets hope a little someone cooperates! We are beyond excited and I don't think there is going to be much sleeping in the Buck house tonight! :)
(Right before we went out to dinner as our last official Saturday date night! We ate at a The Cheesecake Factory, and then topped off the night with snow cones of course! ...still working on using the camera, since I cut off the husbands head! )

How far along? 40weeks and 2 days
Baby Size: Watermelon!! According to our app she is about 19-22 inches, and over 7 lbs. Though we are pretty sure she is more between 8-9 pounds! Our little chunky monkey!
Baby Gender: GIRL!!!!!!
Total weight gain: We weighed today at our last appointment and I have gained about 40 pounds total! Holy Moly! Can't wait to lose the weight!!
Maternity clothes? Living in about the same 5 dresses! Looking forward to going shopping in my closet soon to see what all I have been missing!
Stretch marks? ugh yes! They go away in the morning and then show back up at night so not so sure what that means. I'm hoping that means they are just going to magically go away after sweet girl is here!
Sleep: It has been pretty great lately, just waking up a couple times a night to go to the restroom!
Best moment this week:  Knowing that no matter what we will be meeting our daughter before the week is over!!  I can't believe that it is finally here. So many emotions have been going through my head this week but mainly just so excited!

Also...We have know for a couple of weeks now to but I don't think I have shared on the blog (If so just ignore this..and I blame pregnancy brain!) but we found out that my brother and sister-in-law are going to be having a baby girl in October!! We are beyond thrilled for them and I am so excited that Weslee is going to have a sweet cousin close to her age! I can't wait for the holidays to roll around this year with two babies! Bring on the matching outfits! Now we just need to get the brother through residency and have them move back to Texas!   Weslee is on top in the picture and Baby Tunnell is on the bottom! It is so funny to me how different they look in their sonogram pictures, which were taken at about the same time! I think Weslee is going to be the chunkier baby! :)

Miss Anything? Wearing anything that I want, not having to go the restroom all the time.
Movement: I can tell she is getting bigger by her movements! Instead of lots of little punches and kicks, she is doing more big rolls and big movements. It is very entertaining for Will and I to watch her move at night! She loves to push her bottom out as well!
Food cravings: Snow cones!! We found a snow cone place about 5 minutes from us...not a good thing! I can already tell I'm going to have to limit myself when I no longer have the excuse of being pregnant!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I think one of the side effects I am dealing with from the steroids is feeling queasy after I take them. It doesn't happen every time I take them but enough to where I notice!
Labor Signs: No signs! The doctor said my cervix is softening a little, I really think she is just trying to make me feel better and doesn't want to tell me no progress again!
Symptoms: Still having back aches and my feet have been killing me lately!
Belly Button in or out? Out but flat! Unless I wear thin material clothing you can't tell that my belly button is out!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Mood:Anxious and excited! Can't believe we are about to meet our little girl!

Check back soon to meet our sweet girl! We can't wait to meet her and introduce her to everyone!

Weslee Wednesday II Round 3 - Final Nursery Reveal

How far along? 37 weeks and 2 days
Baby Size: Watermelon!! According to our app she is about 19-22 inches, and 6.5 lbs. Though we went to the doctor on Monday and my doctor informed us she is guessing that little girl is weighing in currently at a whopping 7.5 lbs!! A whole extra pound bigger than average thanks to my steroids I have to take! Yikes!
Baby Gender: GIRL!!!!!!
Total weight gain: 30 plus! Yikes!!
Maternity clothes? I feel like I have been living in the same 5-10 outfits these past couple of weeks! Thank goodness for maxi dresses and maternity jeans, and having jeans days at school! I can not wait to be able to wear my normal clothes again! I love maxi dresses but one can only wear them for so long!
Stretch marks? I think I spotted my first one yesterday morning. I lathered on the oil in hopes to stop them in their tracks. I feel like I am so close that hopefully they will hold off, but with little girl and my belly growing at rapid speed not sure if I will be so lucky!
Sleep: I'm not sleeping for long periods of time but luckily I am not waking up tired.
Best moment this week: Completely finishing Weslee's nursery (pictures at the bottom of the post), washing all of our cloth diapers, and 0-3 clothes! We also installed the car seat into my car! We are ready for her to come whenever she is ready!! I am hoping that is sooner than later!
Miss Anything? Being able to walk more than 5 minutes without having to turn around and go back to go to the restroom, not being exhausted by just doing daily things.
Movement: I can tell she is getting bigger by her movements! Instead of lots of little punches and kicks, she is doing more big rolls and big movements. It is very entertaining for Will and I to watch her move at night! She loves to push her bottom out as well!
Food cravings:Fruit!! I can't seem to get enough! Also chocolate ice cream!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I think one of the side effects I am dealing with from the steroids is feeling queasy after I take them. It doesn't happen every time I take them but enough to where I notice!
Labor Signs: Having the occasional Braxton Hicks, but the doctor said Monday that I had made 0 progress! Will was really grateful to hear that since he finishes up finals on Friday and would really prefer her to stay in until then! Me on the other hand would be more than happy if she came at any moment!
Symptoms: Still having back aches and my feet have been killing me lately!
Belly Button in or out? No change..still just flat!
Wedding rings on or off? On..though I'm not sure if I will be able to wear them for to much longer.
Mood: Feeling pretty good..even the husband agrees! I have began feeling a little anxious about bringing home a newborn but know that we will figure it out as we go!

Now for the important part...Weslee's nursery reveal!! (minus her closet, still a few minor things to work on that require the husbands help!) This room was a labor of love for me! I love decorating rooms and I just thought that this one would be the easiest ever. Oh. I. Was. WRONG! I changed my mind a million times, would do something and then decide I didn't like it, worried about their being to much pink and a million other things! I think I have finally reached a point where I am very happy with how everything turned out!

(Sorry the lighting is terrible in these pictures but I am no photographer :)...might have to do with the fact we need to invest in a good camera before sweet girl gets here!)

Here is the view from the door:
My husband cut out the monogram for me and he found the old door on the side of the road one day and brought it home as surprise for me! He also hand built the crib from scratch based on this crib from Restoration Hardware! He is amazing, and I am so lucky to have him! I know that this piece of furniture will always hold so much meaning to me! We decided to go with a neutral theme for her bedding (in hopes to save it for another baby one day..I'm sure I'll want something else by then. oops!) from Restoration Hardware.

                                                     bedding  Rug  Rocker

My husband built me this frame and I painted on the quote I had found on the Internet, then punched out little gold circles from scrapbook paper to hang around it! This would be one of those labor of love pieces! At first the background was black and the letters were gold but then I decided I didn't like that so I completely changed it!  The sweet rocker was a present from my in-laws, and I love how it fits perfectly in the nursery! I believe that it was the first thing we had with her name on it!

Sorry about the glowing light in the background! My mom and I worked on the hanging fabric banner and her name in the picture frames! This is where I had a hard time with all the pink but I think it pulled everything together in the end! I know that I will have to move it eventually when she starts standing in her crib!

The banner in this pictures is from one of my baby showers! I loved all of the scrapbook paper pages and the colors fit perfectly in the nursery! I wanted to tie in the yellow from the rug so the ribbon on the "W" really helped out. I found the "W" at hobby lobby one day before we even knew if we were having a girl or a boy! I told Will that if we didn't have  girl (because our boy names doesn't start with a W) than the W would be for him! I love the headband holder I found at Hobby Lobby as well! I do not know what I will do if Hobby Lobby really goes out of business!  The alligator was just a fun item I found, that I think will use to take her monthly pictures by!

Her changing table is a piece of furniture that my grandparents had that was made by someone in my family a long time ago! I took it with my to college but had it painted white! I had asked my husband to strip it and stain it for me, telling him that I think there was only about 2 coats of paint on it....apparently there was about 6. Good thing he loves me! I took the bottom drawer out to hold one set of our cloth diapers so that I would have easy access to them. The first two drawers are filled with the sweetest baby clothes! The mirror was an old mirror that Will had before we even got married that I just wrapped burlap around to make the frame match the nursery! The tin trashcan  is what we are using for our Diaper pail. I just couldn't seem to make a regular diaper pail work with our nursery! I love how this one doesn't really stand out!

This is a corner of the room that I know we will be spending lots of time in. I can't wait to have her here to rock in that chair! The shelf holds most of the items we will need during diaper changes. It is from Hobby Lobby as well, I even have another one in my kitchen I loved this item so much!

Happy Weslee Wednesday!

Five on Friday

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and join the Five on Friday link up! I always enjoy reading other people's posts so I figured why not! So let's get started!

-ONE-
It is officially Baby month! By the end of the month we will have a sweet baby girl! I can not believe that our whole world is about to change! I absolutely can not wait to meet Weslee and to be able to hold her and see her sweet face! I know these last few weeks will seem to fly by so we are really trying to enjoy them together!  We are so ready for her to be here but would really prefer that she stay in past May 9th so that my husband is finished with his finals for this semester! At our last doctor's visit she told us that we will have a baby girl no matter what by May 30th, it was really nice to have that end date in my head too!

-TWO-
We have our bible studies on Wednesday, with the most amazing group of people might I add! Our sweet leaders gave us all flowers that were growing in their yard! There is just something about having fresh flowers in your home that makes it just that much better! I can't wait till Will and I have a place where we can grow various types of flowers. I just thought they were a perfect fit by our kitchen sink!

-THREE-
We are packed!

I officially have our bags packed and ready to go for the hospital! It makes it seem that much closer too! I am sure I will think of small things that I have to add to each bag in the next few weeks but as of now we are ready to go! That is another reason I need her to get her sooner than later, so that I can stop thinking of more things to do! Also our basket of treats for our nurses keeps dwindling down..I think a certain husband might be sneaking some late night snacks :)

-FOUR-
Next week our sweet bible study girls are coming over for dinner and to get a sneak peak of Weslee's nursery. Since it is going to be around Cinco De Mayo, I decided why not have a Cinco De Mayo themed dinner! I began creating a few small decorations to get in the spirit. I found all of these print outs for free on Tatertots and Jello's blog. I have a few more things to make but I am excited about how things are turning out so far!

-FIVE-
We have officially booked our newborn pictures for when Weslee is here! We are going to have a fabulous photographer come over after Weslee has been home for about a week. Naturally I have been scoring pinterest for some ideas. I think I have decided I want to go with just natural poses and "daily living" pictures instead of so many posed pictures, but I am sure we will sneak some posed pictures into the mix as well! These are a few of my favorites so far..

Thanks for checking out my first Five on Friday posts, so glad A.Liz AdventuresCarolina CharmHello HappinessThe Good Life Blog created this fun link up! Have a great Friday!!
