23 weeks....Babygap and Bow addiction

(First update picture in Weslee's Nursery...in 17 short weeks she will be sleeping in that crib!!)

How far along? 23 weeks  (yes I skipped week 22...not much changed anyways, life just got busy!)
Baby Size: Ear of Corn. Baby girl is 8.5 inches long, 1.5 lbs (I'm guessing she is a little more since she was a about 2 oz bigger than normal last time we went to the doctor)
Baby Gender: GIRL!!!!!!
Total weight gain: 17 pounds..or more who knows!
Maternity clothes? Still only have one pair of jeans and making it work! So thankful that leggings and tunic tops are in style right now!
Stretch marks? So far so good...keeping fingers crossed!
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good, waking up a couple of times a night to go to the restroom but getting used to that! Little girl's favorite time to move all about inside is between the wee hours of 1am-5 am, hoping this is not a sign of how our sleep schedule will be in the real world :)
Best moment this week: The husband got to feel Weslee kick Monday during the day! I had felt her kick pretty strong so I told him to come try and feel, and after about 2 seconds with his hand on my stomach she kicked the hardest she has kicked yet! It was so fun to see his face light up and he was beyond excited! We both have been feeling her more and more, it is such a fun feeling!!
Miss Anything? Being able to wear anything in my closet...
Movement: She is moving lots more and I can feel her moving stronger. She is way more active at night when we are sitting on the couch relaxing or right before bed time!
Food cravings: Nothing earth shattering these past 2 weeks. Tried to cut back on the morning donut stops since I have my Glucose test coming up! Still really want fruit and milk a lot!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, feeling pretty good!
Labor Signs: Not a thing..thank goodness!!
Symptoms: Starting to get more headaches again and my lower back has been hurting pretty much daily.
Belly Button in or out? Still in..thinking it will switch any week now, and yes the husband is still grossed out by it! This is so strange to me, he is a boy, of all the things he does a belly button grosses him out?!?!?
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: According to the husband my mood goes as followed: Grumpy and tired and the morning repeating my two quotes in the morning "It's cold!" and "I don't want to go to school, do I have too?" and then once I am up and going I am fine, and then by the time I come home I am tired and just want to take a shower and go to bed. He says I am quite predictable these days!
Looking forward to: My mom and I started on the nursery on Martin Luther King day since we were off of school, so I am really excited to see everything starting to come together! By far though this is the hardest room I have ever decorated, because I think I want it to be so perfect for her...and I change my mind ever two seconds!

Mom and I went to register at Babies R Us this past weekend...that was quite the experience! I remember registering for our wedding and man that was a breeze compared to a baby registry!  Lucky one of my dear friends, Ashley, came over a couple of weeks ago and went through a list with me and told me what I really needed and what I could get away with not having! She is on baby number two..so I consider her a pro..and I'm really thinking about paying her to live with me the first months of Weslee's life because she is the best at getting her babies to sleep through the night! :) While we were out we stopped by Baby Gap to check out the new Paddington Bear line....if you are having a baby in the near future RUN as fast as you can (or just get online :) ) and check this out now!! This line has the cutest clothes, which is a good thing but a bad thing for my bank account..here are a few that I purchased for Weslee...

Baby girl's closet is filling up quickly...Will informed me that I have been cut off for the month of February in the shopping for Weslee department (which hasn't even started yet!!!!) ..this will be hard!!!...don't worry to much though because I know I have one more shipment coming from baby gap any day now! :)
Another addiction I have right now is bows and headbands! I truly think she needs them ALL and I just keep finding ones that are so cute Her ever growing stash..

I will leave you with a picture of a visitor we had stay with us this past Monday :) ...she is a great study buddy!

Wednesday, January 15

New Restaurant, Crib, and 21 weeks!

..in the bathroom at my school...I kept forgetting to get the husband to take a picture! Stripes are probably not the best pattern for a pregnant person to wear either *mental note*

How far along? 21 weeks and 2 days...19 weeks to go!
Baby Size: The size of a carrot.
Baby Gender: GIRL!!!!!!
Total weight gain: 15 pounds, at least I'm hoping I haven't gained any weight this past week!
Maternity clothes? Still wearing my one pair of maternity jeans but not maternity tops! I can still wear some of my regular pants but they are snug  barely buttoning and have a tendency to "pop" open sometimes!
Stretch marks? So far so good.
Sleep: Started using two extra pillows to "prop" up the belly and that has really helped with my sleep this past week!
Best moment this week: The husband finished the crib..like it is in the nursery!!! Just waiting on the mattress to arrive and we can put the bedding in and it will be ready to go!
I am so impressed with the husband and his talents!! One lucky wife and little girl!
Miss Anything? Being able to wear anything in my closet...
Movement: Lost of flutters..still mainly at night time, hopefully this is not a view of how her sleeping schedule will be!
Food cravings: Chicken Salad Sandwich from either Panera or Celebrity Bakery. Still craving lots of fruit, Milk and Cereal, OJ. The past couple of weeks I have really wanted slurpees too! The 7-11 people remind me lots that I am the only one that buys slurpees in January!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No nothing in particular but I have started feeling a little queasy occasionally during the days..its not too bad though!
Labor Signs: Not a thing..thank goodness!!
Symptoms: My back as really started to hurt this past week so I've been trying to drink tons of water to help, that is my husbands answer to anything! HEART BURN..no matter what I eat or drink it is guaranteed to happen! My mom said that this is what happened to her and it never went away, not excited about that!
Belly Button in or out? Still in..with the occasionally reminder from the husband about how gross it is when it pops out..
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: I can for sure tell I have mood swings but trying my hardest to keep those under control..the husband would probably say I should try a little harder at times! :)
Looking forward to: Starting to decorate her nursery! The husband is finishing up one more piece of furniture that needed to be stripped and stained so after that is finished I can really start working on it! Can't wait to get it all done!!

This past week we went to eat with our Foundation Group and had such a fun time! We usually stick to the same restaurants over and over so it was nice to go to a new one! In Dallas the opened a new park called Kylde Warren Park not to long ago and there is a restaurant, Savor, right in the middle of the park! It has glass windows all around so we were able to look outside and it they even still had Christmas lights on the tree still!  If you live in the Dallas area I would highly recommend it, especially for the atmosphere!

One of my best friends growing up, who now lives in Virginia, came in this weekend to for her nephew's birthday so I got to see her! We got to do some shopping for Weslee and eat at a great Pizza place! It is always fun to catch up with friends...hopefully one day I can convince her to move back home, though it is not likely since her husband has to be stationed by water! Here is the precious outfit that she bought for Weslee!

The little bows on the back of these leggings are the sweetest things!

My mom came over Sunday to check out the crib because she had not seen it in picture yet, just a million pictures of it..and she brought Weslee two new outfits and a headband too! (need to go back and take pictures of these too!) We are going to have one well dressed little girl..and I think she may own every baby gap outfit they have out right now! The husband might be in trouble :)
My mom and dad also got down some of my old dresses for Weslee to wear...I love them!!!

Angus was such a sweet model...clearly she is excited that we are having a little girl! Though everyone think that when Weslee gets here Angus is going to have the hardest time transitioning. She enjoys all the attention herself..especially from my mom and dad! It will be interesting!

Half Way there!!!

**Right before our 20 week doctors appointment! We wore the color that we thought the baby was going to be! **

How far along? 20 weeks..3 days! I can't believe it...I remember when we had just found out and other people I knew were posting about how they were half way down and it seemed like forever away for me and now this is where we are at now!
Baby Size: A banana?? According to our sonogram yesterday she is 12 oz!
Baby Gender: GIRL!!!!!!
Total weight gain: 15 pounds, but I wore my boots so I'm thinking they for sure weight at least 2 pounds :)
Maternity clothes? Still wearing my one pair of maternity jeans but not maternity tops! I can still wear some of my regular pants but they are snug  barely buttoning and have a tendency to "pop" open sometimes!
Stretch marks? So far so good. Update on the Stretch mark cream the the husband bought me a plethora of...I'm allergic to it, makes my whole stomach break into red spots and get really itchy! So if anyone is in the market for some stretch mark cream let me know!
Sleep: Waking up about 2-3 times a night to go the restroom but pretty good at sleeping still, still missing sleeping on my back!
Best moment this week: Finding out that Baby Buck is a GIRL and getting to watch her for a good 15 minutes. She is quite a busy little girl and was not really wanting to show her face much! Our ultrasound tech was so sweet and patient even when baby girl wasn't cooperating!
Miss Anything? Nothing really new...missing my daily naps and morning talk shows since I started back to school this week!
Movement: I know she is moving up a storm in there but don't feel her a ton! I mainly feel her at night when I am laying real still before I fall asleep. Everyone kept telling me that it will feel like little butterflies (I had no idea what that meant!) but I think it feels more like a stomach spasm!
Food cravings: Chicken Salad Sandwich from either Panera or Celebrity Bakery. Still craving lots of fruit, Milk and Cereal, OJ,
Anything making you queasy or sick: No nothing in particular but I have started feeling a little queasy occasionally during the days..its not too bad though!
Labor Signs: Not a thing..thank goodness!!
Symptoms: My back as really started to hurt this past week so I've been trying to drink tons of water to help, that is my husbands answer to anything!
Belly Button in or out? In..though as I read this I remembered I had a dream about having an outtie, so maybe it's in the near future!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: I can for sure tell I have mood swings but trying my hardest to keep those under control..the husband would probably say I should try a little harder at times! :)
Looking forward to: The crib being completely finished and getting to start working on the nursery now that we know it's a baby girl!! Also we got her Moses basket in from Restoration Hardware, it is for sure becoming more reals!

Here is our video letting people know that we were having a sweet baby girl! In my head it looked WAY different but it made for a good memory! Apparently when the Party CIty guy asked me how much confetti I needed to be a little bit more specific...he placed a total of FIVE pieces of confetti in the balloon!

(Can't get the video to work right now...I'll try and work on it later...just frustrating me right now!!!)

We made a deal the night before our doctors appointment that whoever was right on guessing the gender of the baby would get to pick out their first outfit...this really was just an excuse for me to convince will that we would need to go shopping ASAP! Here is the sweetest little dress that Will picked out for her!! I was so impressed with his pick! It was really fun to watch him pick out her clothes, you could tell it was his first time looking at baby clothes!

We have officially chosen her name to be Weslee Grace Buck. I never imagined how difficult it would be to choose a name for my child! Since I am a school teacher there are a lot of names I knew we wouldn't be using because of students that I had taught with those names! :) I wanted her to have a unique name but not one that was so hard to pronounce or that people would completely butcher! I absolutely love the name that we came up with, and the husband was in agreement! We have heard from some people that they lover her name which makes me so excited...then I quickly tell Will "like someone would tell me that they didn't like the name!"

See you next time!

Baby Update: 19 weeks

How far along? 19 weeks...
Baby Size: A large heirloom tomato
Total weight gain: 12-13 pounds, I'll know for sure on Monday!
Maternity clothes? Lately, I've been wearing workout/yoga clothes since we have been off school for a week and 1/2.  All of which are non-maternity...but very stretchy :).
Stretch marks? So far so good..*funny story I want to remember* So the husband and I just share an amazon account because he has the prime version, so whenever I am on there I just add stuff to his cart. So I was looking up tummy creams for stretch mark prevention and found some highly recommended kind and then complete forgot that I put it in the amazon cart. Well the husband decided to surprise me and order it for me...but apparently I had accidentally put in a couple of orders instead of just one..so now I have 6 tubs of stretch mark cream!! I thought it was so funny and thoughtful..and I think we will be set for a while! He says he planned it that way because he wants 6 kids so that's one tub per pregnancy..YIKES!
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well...starting to miss sleeping on my back and stomach!
Best moment this week: Hmmm...still seeing the crib progression, ordering our rocker for our nursery (thanks to my parents!!) and my MIL ordering our bassinet! Now I just have to be patient as it all comes in!
Miss Anything? Still missing being able to stay awake or not be tired!
Movement: I think I have started to fill our sweet baby, it feels like stomach spasms to me! Hoping it gets stronger soon so the hubby can feel it!
Food cravings: Still milk and cereal, OJ, ice cream, carbs..just about anything! I'm sure that will show at my next weigh in!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No nothing in particular but I have started feeling a little queasy occasionally during the days..its not too bad though!
Gender: We find out in 5 days!!!
Labor Signs: Not a thing..thank goodness!!
Symptoms: none!
Belly Button in or out? In..the husband is so grossed out by the possibility of it becoming and outie belly button!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: I can for sure tell I have mood swings but trying my hardest to keep those under control..the husband would probably say I should try a little harder at times! :)
Looking forward to: Finding out if baby Buck is going to be a Boy or Girl!! Also I have a spa day with my mom on Friday thanks to my dad who gets this for us as a stocking gift each year! I look forward to it each year and is such a fun mom and daughter day!

Since it is New Years Day I figured I should chat about my new years resolution since the hubs asked me what mine was this morning and much to his dismay I didn't have one!
I have very weird feelings about resolutions, I think it is more of a fear that I may not accomplish that goal or it may be more work than I originally thought! I think I will call them my goals instead of my New Years resolutions but here is what I have come up with
1.  I want my relationship with the Lord to continue to grow and for me to be able to show that to other people. I want people to see God through me without me even having to try, I want it to just be natural.
2. I want to love my husband the best that I know how, I want him to know EVERY day he is the most important person in the world to me. always and forever.
3. I want to learn to become the best mommy to our little blessing in the very near future. I want to remember that I am not going to be perfect at being a mommy and that I am going to make mistakes but it is okay!
4. Since joining our sweet little community group this past year it has really helped my desire to grow in the Lord and I want to continue to pour myself into this group and grow with these other couples. I love that Will and I are in this together and are getting to learn even more about each other and learning about God together! Not sure what can be better than watching your spouse's relationship with God grow! I want to continue on this journey and I am so excited to see how our relationships develop!
5. Health.  Even before I was pregnant I was always afraid of the weight gain and not being able to get it off. But becoming pregnant my health has become so much more. I want my whole little family to be healthy. I want to exercise together whether it be family walks, hikes, or even playing a game of tennis at our local tennis court. I want these things to become more of a priority in our house and to become more active.
In 2014 I want to love my family the best I know how, I want to grow in my walk with Christ and my husband. I want to be a  good, thoughtful friend. I want to be healthy and lead my family in a healthy, active lifestyle.
What are your dreams for 2014?
