Christmas Cards 2014

Happy Monday all! Today I am linking up with Lyndsey for the Christmas Card link up! I literally dropped our cards off at the post office this morning (while my most amazing husband kept little bit at home...can we talk about how much easier the post office is without a baby in tow!! Especially when the line is out the door! Oh that husband of mine might get some extra presents this year for keeping her this morning!)

I love sending out Christmas Cards and our Buck Bulletin. I remember before I was married that was one of the things that I really looked forward too doing and it is even more fun now that little bit has joined our family!

Without further ramblings from me here is our 2014 Christmas Card..I do not think it could be more perfect!

(Not the best backdrop for me to lay it on to take a pictures but you get the idea!)

And just because I know you would love to see more Christmas pictures of little miss!
A few picture from our photo shoot that we didn't' use:

Sometimes a girl needs to take a break during a photo shoot..modeling is tough work!

This girl is going to love Christmas time just like her momma!

I love the look of pure fascination in this picture. Christmas through a child's eye is something special.
We hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and truly remember why we celebrate Christmas as well!

Five on Friday

I am so behind in blogging...like a certain someones 6 month post but that may not happen until she turns 7 months old..  but lets just hop right onto the Five on Friday

ONE. The husband is finished with his 5th semester of school..for a whopping 5 days before he heads back for a Winter semester but this momma will take it!! He works so hard for our little family and we really miss him while he is studying but we are so thankful for him!

TWO.  We took little bit to see Santa last week...and it went just as we expected. We went to the ABSOLUTE BEST Santa around us...only problem is so does everyone else! We ended up waiting for about 2 1/2 hours but luckily we had my mom and dad with us so they helped entertain and treated us to dinner!

This picture is one of my favorites..I swear my husband loves my mom he just thinks Weslee Grace and her are crazy when they get together! :)

THREE. Since little miss turned 6 months my brain has been spinning with first birthday ideas..type A personality in full force. My number one craving while I was pregnant was Watermelon, I'm talking I could eat a whole watermelon in 1-2 days. ALL.BY.MYSELF. So I think we are going with a watermelon theme for her birthday! I started doing a few little DIY for her party and found this precious watermelon onesie. I have already informed the hubs that she will have a few outfit changes...I have 6 months to convince him that it is really necessary!

FOUR. I found this door on a garage sale site online and new that I had to have it! I told the hubby that it would make a great early Christmas present and he was all over the idea! I love how it added a touch of black to our dinning area and LOVE it with the Christmas decorations. You can never go wrong with a chalkboard!

FIVE. This week I have been battling the awful stomach flu starting about Monday around midnight, luckily Weslee Grace and I were already spending the night with my parents since the husband would be studying all hours of the night for finals. I can't remember the last time I felt so sick..I'll save you the details. I went to the doctor Tuesday morning thinking that I had food poisoning but turns out it was the flu. I spent the next three days at my parents recovering and having them help with little bit! I am so blessed to have the absolute best parents that drop whatever they are doing to help, my mom even cancelled a meeting should had scheduled with her school director to stay and take care of her two girls. I know we both wore them out but really appreciate them! My sweet dad even got my car inspected, oil changed, washed my car and put gas in it because he thought I needed a treat! One lucky girl! GET YOUR FLU SHOT!

And I leave you with the most precious little Christmas booty around

Making your holly Christmas hoLy

I absolutely love Christmas time (just ask my husband who has put up with Christmas songs blasting since about early November...) and probably even more so this year now that little bit is here! I know she is only 6 months old but it is so neat to just see all things Christmas through her eyes. Everything is new, everything is perfect, everything is bright and shiny, everything is holly and jolly! I want her to have a love for Christmas just like I do as she grows up but I also want her to remember why we even have Christmas.  Yes the hustle and bustle of the season is so much fun, the family gatherings are fun, the lights are extradoinare, I adore Christmas songs  but without our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ their would be no meaning to Christmas.

This morning at my Women's Bible study I had the privilege of listening to this woman speak about "making your holly Christmas hoLy." In my opinion it is easy to have a holly Christmas, but is not so easy to make sure it is a hoLy Christmas as well, even if their is only 1 letter difference in these two words..the real difference is huge. The lady said that it should be a 'hoLy' Christmas and that the capital "l" should stand for Lord. She gave us many ideas of how we can keep Jesus in the fore front of our minds through the season, which many of her ideas I plan to implant in our home and begin some new traditions. I love that I heard this wonderful lady speak during this time of my life as we are just starting family traditions, and I really have at least one more year before Weslee Grace can really be involved, but I would like to start some things now to make sure we get a good foundation going!

Just so I remember and don't forget, some of the things that I want to do during our Christmas season are an advent calendar (we have one now for our whole family, but next year I want to do one that is more geared to Weslee..maybe the Jesse Christmas Tree Advent), read and leave open the bible to Luke 2 by our tree, learn a Christmas Carol each year (I might up this to 2-3 a year) -- she said they used Christmas Carol's as bed time stories which I loved (my husband I know will be thrilled about this one..it amazes me that he doesn't know the words to some Christmas Carols and I amaze him because my mom and I can win any Christmas Carol contest around :) ), there are some others as well but I am going to try and not overwhelm myself! What are some Christmas traditions that you have?? I would love to hear them!!

I have so enjoyed my Women's Bible study this year and getting to know some amazing women! I was so skeptical at first and was afraid that I wouldn't be in a  group that I really felt at home but I was blessed with an amazing group and leader! So funny how I am surprised every time when things word out like his but God knows exactly what he is doing…every.single.time! I have met some wonderful ladies and mommas, and I know that many of those friendships have just begun!

Here are a few pictures from our Christmas celebration this morning..it was a red and white themed celebration!

Our sweet friends Charlotte and Sarah!

Please check out Weslee Grace's face….oh sweet girl!

Love this little family and so thankful for so many years of friendships and ALL of her wonderful advice! :) I just know that Weslee Grace and those sweet Baker boys are going to be the best of friends!

Would love to hear what your Christmas traditions are or how you help keep Jesus in Christmas for your family?

Thanksgiving 2014

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, as our first one as a family of three! It is so crazy to me that last year little bit was still inside…and we didn't even know she was a sweet little girl yet! We spent this Thanksgiving with my in-laws and had great day with them! We drove down to Duncanville mid- morning and got to spend the whole day with them, which we don't' get to do too often! We hung around during the morning and watch little bit explore all the different toys! She loves loves loves music and played the piano and drums all day! She loves to mimic her daddy banging on the drum…or really anything! It is a sweet little game they play! I love that she loves the piano and hope that she will take lessons one day like her momma! I am so grateful to know how to play the piano…even if there were years when I less than liked practicing!

Her grandma got her this little toy that she can start trying to walk with, and it was a huge hit! Weslee Grace loves walking holding our hands..and spends 85% of her day walking around our little home holding my hands, so this toy is great!! She is able to stand and hold herself up all alone, but does still take a little guidance when she tries to walk! Though she did take 1 step by herself…though I am sure it was by accident! It was so funny though because she kept moving her left leg but wouldn't pick up her right so her legs just kept getting further and further apart!

Weslee's cousin Ari (Will's sisters little boy) performed a violin concert for us as well, and it was great! He is a 1st grader and just started taking lessons and is really good! He was so good with Weslee too, even helped me change a couple of diapers.like an old pro!

After playing in the morning we ate a delicious lunch! We had the usual Thanksgiving meal and it was delicious! I made my usual Chess Pie and brought a Pomegranite Cheese ball that was a hit by all!

We all hung out in their amazing backyard while the boys played some basketball. I did challenge Will to a race around the tennis courts…and after about 10 minutes of begging him he finally complied…and he won…

I wanted to get a family picture of everyone now that little bit has joined us in the world (..for 6 months
now..that is a whole other post!) so we went and hiked these trials by their house!  It was a gorgeous day for a hike and beautiful scenery! It is no easy task getting 1 baby, 1 kid, 1 dog, and 6 adults all to cooperate for a picture, but I think we got a great one! I am so thankful to have married into such a sweet and fun family!

While we were eating lunch my MIL went around and asked everyone what they were thankful for (which I loved!) ..my response was my two "W"'s. These two are the light of my life and I am not sure how I got so lucky to be their wife/momma but I am so glad that I am! There is never a dull moment with them and I wouldn't want it any other way! I would say we had a great first Thanksgiving as a family of three!
