Snowflakes are falling on my head

We have had some crazy weather lately for us Texans. I feel like I have spent 90% of my times inside because of the cold temperatures and SNOW/sleet. When it snows in Texas life stops and everyone shuts down. I kind alike that though..its nice to slow down for a bit…though now that we have had what feels like weeks of this I am ready for the warm sunshine! It was fun to see little bit experience her first snow/sleet. She was skeptical at first but then warmed up to it..I think she mainly just didn't' like her pink snow suit because she can't move well in it and girlfriend likes to move! We had fun playing in the snow for a little bit each time! Also it is always a fun bonus to have daddy trapped at home with us!!

We woke up another morning to it snowing so we stepped out on the balcony to try and catch some flakes in our hands! *ignore that I am in shorts..it took long enough to get little bit bundled that I could of cared less what I had on by that point*

After nap time we went out again to catch a few flakes on our tongue..how this girl knew to do this is beyond me! How perfect is this weather for our "Little Miss Snowflake" onesie!

It snowed so much this day…pretty hard and constant all day long! We went back out for a second time later to much more snow! We got smart and took a blanket with us this time! WG kept wanting to eat the snow!

Notice the snow on our hat…we fell over because she refuses to sit normal in her pink suit! Funny girl!

We only spend a few minutes outside before we are all freezing and ready to head inside, so we have been pulling out all the tricks to keep little bit entertained! Even bedtime story time got an upgrade! She was fascinated with all the little pieces to go with The Very Hungry Catepillar.
Story I don't want to forget: When the husband is home in time for bedtime he reads her a story, so since he was home all day he got to do it this night! I was in the living room picking up and half way listening to them in her room. I over heard him reading the story to her and when he got to the part about when the caterpillar eats all of the junk food he proceeds to add on that the caterpillar may get diabetes so we don't eat like that, and what it means to eat healthy…glad he is trying to instill healthy eating habits to our 9 month old :)

We painted…this was fun because I could leave it up and she would come back to it through out the day! I think the camo tape was a nice touch too!

We brought in some snow for little bit to play with and she loved it! She went straight to eating it..I think because she is teething it felt good on her gums!

I thought her hands must be frozen after playing in the snow for so long so I put gloves socks on her…that was obviously not what she wanted! Frozen hands are so much better!

We played with all of our baby dolls…a lot. I think we have a girly girl on our hands!

..and of course one of our favorite activities..playing with mommas makeup..the bag full of the most exciting things according to WG!

Funny enough as I write this we are waiting on another "arctic blast" to make its way through our area…so perhaps more snow(s) day are in in our new future! Happy Weslee Wednesday!

9 months

Oh little bit. You are 9 months old..and these were the fastest 9 months of your momma's life. I remember when I was pregnant with you thinking that those 9 months were dragging on forever. So funny how the same amount of time can feel so different in different situations. You are still the joy of our lives and make us smile and laugh everyday. You are a HOOT! You never cease to amaze us with what you can do and your little personality.

You are working on getting your top two teeth right now ( and have been for what seems to be forever..) and that hasn't even slowed you down..if anything it has sped you up because while you are teething you do not like to nap. They finally popped through so hopefully we are about done with it..for now. You love to eat, just about anything! If you act like you don't want something all I have to do is pretend to take a bit and you will get whiny because you don't want me to and take a bite immediately! Such a funny girl!

You are so very active, and never ever want to sit still. Your KT and Capt' say that you get that from your momma…so does your daddy! He says your momma is still that way..I don't think it is a bad thing! You have gotten where you will point at what you want and you want it RIGHT then! When we go to bed each night you point out your tutu and ballet shoes that hang from your shelf.  Then first thing you point at each morning are you books! Your daddy built you some new bookshelves that are right by your bed (momma painted them and designed them… :) ) so you see them first thing each morning! You love to read books and turn the pages!

(This pictures cracks me up…not quite sure what you want to do more!)

You really enjoy running errands with momma too. You are the happiest when we are out doing things or when you are walking around with your cart ..(and having tea parties)! You don't meet a stranger when we are out, I hope you are always loving and friendly! Everyone comments on how cute you are, and we could not agree more!

One story I want to remember: We are working on teaching you the word 'no'. It is quite humorous right now. The only thing we tell you 'no' on is when you start crawling for cords or grab a cord. It is very clear that you know what the word means. One day I went to put something in the bathroom and I came back and you had managed to crawl on top of our printer and I squatted down in front of you and told you 'no no'. You then proceeded to put your hands on my face and give me a kiss! I could not believe it and just started laughing.. ( i know wonderful parenting..) I told your daddy that if you knew that was all you had to do to get out of trouble that we were in for it! You are so funny sweet girl!

You are still a great sleeper at night (minus when you are teething) and are still taking two naps a day! You have gotten to where you like to have Ellee in your crib with you so that if you aren't tired you can play with her. It is so funny to watch you on the monitor sitting in your crib just talking away to Ellee! We had to lower your crib all the way to the ground and momma can barely put you in it now!

You have started waving "hi" and "bye" to people EVERYWHERE. You really do it a lot when we are at the grocery story and when we are at church. Speaking of church…you are still not a fan of the nursery! It is so funny to me because when we are out you make friends with everyone but when you are in the nursery on Wednesday and Sunday mornings you are not excited to be there at all! Hopefully we are starting to out grow it a little bit because we have had a few more happy days this month!

You love to dance. You make this face, we call it your monkey face, and make your whole body move up and down. It doesn't matter where you are, you can dance anywhere. You dance in the bathtub, in your carseat, while momma is holding you, in the grocery cary EVERYWHERE! KT is trying to teach you 'patty cake' but you think it just means to dance!

You are still crawling like a mad woman everywhere. You are super fast. You like to crawl really fast and then turn around and see if I am watching you and then you laugh and take off again. You pull up and walk around everything. You are not afraid of anything. I think you could walk if you wanted to but right now you still like to hold on to momma and daddy's hands. Which I do not mind at all!

Sweet girl we love you and can't believe you are already 9 months old! You are the sweetest, most beautiful baby girl in the world and can not thank God enough for such a wonderful *surprise* blessing!

Our Weekend:One for the books

We had the best weekend and perfect weather! Our fun weekend started on Friday with our playdate with one of our favorite momma/baby girl duos! It has been pretty cold and cloudy around here lately and little bit has not been feeling her best. Early in the week my friend Ashley sent me the most precious pictures of her little girl in her bathing suit, just modeling away! Instantly I knew that the girls needed an inside pool party on Friday for our play date! I picked up a blow up play pool from target and we were set! The girls had a blast for the most party and I'm pretty sure they think their mommas are crazy! It is so fun to watch them together!

'

The next morning we woke up bright and early to head to Oklahoma to see our favorites, Cole, Annie and Claire! Weslee Grace and I practiced all week giving Claire's pictures kisses! Before we headed off on the four hour trip we snuck in a little cuddle time and reading with daddy though! We were so sad he had to stay back and study..but LESS than a year left!

My backseat companions...non stop kisses for everyone from Angus and Weslee Grace!

It was perfect weather for a road trip as well and it was our first road trip in my dads new truck! Little bit did pretty good both ways! We spent the day playing with the girls, catching up with Cole and Annie, chasing Weslee Grace, 'oohing and awwing' over Claire, opening Valentine presents and just enjoying being with each other!

(holding hands..the sweetest...and there is Ellee in all her glory too....)

Weslee has not quite mastered being gentle with Claire.she tried to climb ON TOP of her..Claire was such a trooper with all the eye pokes, hair bow stealing, and stomach mashing from WG. I know she is just plotting her revenge for in a few months!

The best uncle and dad around!

Love how excited Claire is to see WG!

Claire is special in our books…Weslee Grace is very stingy with her kisses!

Sweet Clair and her KT!
The weather was so nice we took the girls and sat outside for a bit..though it was little cooler than we thought! Luckily we had our guard dogs with us as well!

These pictures crack me up..Claire's face says it all "Someone better get this girl she is going to take off and eat the leaves again!"

The most beautiful girls in the world! I am so excited for Weslee Grace that she has Claire to grow up with, best friends for life! :)

We headed home early Sunday morning and we couldn't wait to see our daddy! It was a beautiful day so after WG took her nap (road tripping' can be exhausting!) we headed out for a walk around the lake! Ending our weekend with just my sweet little family made it the most perfect weekend!

"oh hi momma! Over night I turned 15!!"

These two make this mommas's world complete!
